You might wish to be like a tree in this season.
Let the life force that once made your leaves supple and of splendorous colour retract from your surface and draw deeply inside you.
Let the leaves - who in seasons past have made their point in green, red, orange, yellow and brown - eerily rattle in the chill winds from the north.
Draw your vital rays close, closer and deeper into your trunk.
Keep your sap warm and honey-like in your veins, in your bones, but conceal such activity to outsiders.
Let the others see you die. Let them see the emptiness and grief in your eye.
Let your leaves fall unceremoniously to the ground.
We are in Scorpio season now. The Sun is in the early degrees of the sign of death and transformation and tomorrow, Luna will be here as well, seeding a new moon directly across the sky from Uranus.
An unexpected change from the outside propels us into the Taurus-Scorpio polarity:
to hold on or let go?
to save or spend?
to follow the wisdom of my own values or to open myself to the power and influence of another?
In a few days on that sugar-filled day we call Halloween, Mercury will begin his third and final retrograde journey of 2020. Mercury is calling on us to commune with ghosts from relationships past. To do the work necessary to cultivate graceful endings.
The ruler of our new moon, Mars, is in difficult circumstances. Caught in a tangle of past decisions, tasked to listen to wisdom of those who have gone before, and compelled to make an irreversible shift, Mars is helping us explore our diplomatic prowess to make courageous decisions concerning relationships and social dynamics.
There is much feeling ahead, much processing, and perhaps some difficult conversation. Later though. First there is much to feel, much to let go of, and much to re-visit. Move slowly, move secretly, and thank those older and wiser than us.
