Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a painful condition that affects up to 10% of women. It is diagnosed when endometrial tissue is found beyond the uterine boundaries. I’m currently examining how the prenatal hormonal environment might affect endometriosis risk. A previous project I worked on explored how oxytocin may mediate an apparent comorbidity between bipolar disorder and endometriosis.
INterrelationships between sex and birth
I’ve been curious for a long time about how the neuroendocrinological and anatomical systems underlying sexual arousal, orgasm, labour, and birth interact. This is a work in progress! Stay tuned for updates.
The crawford Lab
I’m fortunate to be a part of a highly interdisciplinary and productive group of researchers who all study biological evolution. This group has emerged from the FAB* lab. I have been working with this group on and off for a decade now.
